One of the best organized race events on the east coast. Music and cheering was great. The start/finish and parking setup is so convenient. I love that the bathrooms at the John Paul John's Arena are made available before the race starts. Not having to weight in really long lines relieved a lot of stress for me, pre race. Love, love, love this race! Everything about the race was top-notch, as it always is (I've run the race 8 times). Can't say enough good things about the organization, volunteers, everything. Perfect weather, great shirts and medals, lots of people on the course cheering. I love this race. Thank you. Was just run very well. Everything went smoothly and the course is AWESOME. SO FUN! I love how close everything is to one another. Packet pickup, start line, food, etc. are close together. The parking was great as well! All the volunteers were extremely helpful and pleasant. Great course, exceptional organization, terrific volunteers. I will definitely return. Well run, challenging course but not overly difficult. A bit of a walk to get to the food, however. Thanks to everyone who made this such an enjoyable event. This has always been one of my favorite events to kick off the Spring Season. Well organized and great volunteers this year! Liked the shirt design. Great race, nice turn out course a good challenge. The timers did a great job. I love everything about this race. I look forward to it every year. |
Beyond satisfied! Perfect event, as always!!! My favorite race of the year. And any runner that complains in this survey should come run a race in Philly -- that will teach them. This race is incomparable. So well organized and well executed. Having access to JPJ arena makes the race so calm and clean and easy and lovely. Thank you! Wonderful race! The crowd participation and bands along the way made it so fun. The band outside of the church was THE best! Best 10 Miler yet! Very smooth execution. Directions were clear. Parking was easy. Facilities were great. Loved it! My family and I love this event year in and year out. Thank you! I thought packet pick-up was very well organized. Pre-race - I was thankful to be in JPJ. And, thank you for bringing back a nicer quality race shirt this year! It's one of the best organized races I've ever run- packet pick up was easy and efficient and the course layout and parking areas were well mapped out. Everything went so smoothly from registration through to the finish line. Great course support, great volunteers, great course. Most fun I had ever. My first distance race. It was fantastic. I was going to wear headphones and my friends encouraged me not to do so because I would miss the cheers and the music and the conversations. Great time. thank you. It always exceeds my expectations. Such a fun day and so inspiring. I find this race from an organizational and treating the runners perspective very good. Every single element of this race went smoothly - parking, packet pickup, start, finish, food afterwards, and of course the race itself. Easily one of the best racing experiences I've ever had! So many hillz!! Great parking, indoor waiting, mile markers and organization! Loved the new mile markers - you can see them from a distance, and I did not miss one! Excellent organization of the event. As always, the race was spectacular. |
What is your favorite part of the Charlottesville Ten Miler?
Love the course and the atmosphere. This race does a really good job of balancing serious racing with community support. It's a high class field of participants, so the race is set up to work for those who are fast and experienced, as well as for those who are novices.
All of the encouragement along the way!!!!
I love this race! The course and the community feel are the reasons I run this race.
The course is so beautiful and the volunteers are so gracious.
Running through the mall was a neat experience.
Small town racing tradition. It's wonderful.
Really a lot of things. Flawless execution. Race started on time. The course was well marked and maintained with volunteers. The parking at the start finish was excellent. Start/finish in the same place. Never run it before, but I will again.
It's an overall great experience. Thanks to all the directors and volunteers for a very very nice job.
All the support along the way...I LOVED the various spots playing music, the bands playing.
My family said it was easy to get to town, park and come out to support the event. That made it more fun for me to have them at the race.
My favorite part was the downtown mall and I thought the medals were cool.
I like all the rest rooms in the JPJ arena.
The race has great local support. It is a fun course and event.
The location! It was wonderful having the parking and having use of all of the facilities (restrooms) in the John Paul Jones Arena prior to the race. It is also great to see the sites when running around UVA and downtown Charlottesville.
LOVED the band/choral group that was on Preston. You could here them all the way at the top of the hill, and they were great motivation.
All of it. Loved every minute. Will definitely do it next year.
Great turnout and support from the community for an event that supports a local non profit.
Aside from the race itself, the volunteers who handed out water, cheered us on, played guitar, sang, and contributed positive energy was by far my favorite part. So motivational! The race would not be the same without the encouragement--it makes an enormous difference and was my favorite. Thank you volunteers and cheering spectators!
Everyone cheering us on and the town in general. The UVA campus and the surrounding area was beautiful!
Police, event staff and course volunteers did a great job.
I loved the comraderie and community support. Seeing everyone out on the sidewalks cheering, playing music, holding signs, was so fun! I felt like a part of something big. Great time.
By far the friendly people who ran it, cheered us on from their porches along the way, and volunteered to hand us cups of water, etc!
Loved running in downtown area. Also appreciate the well-organized start/finish areas.
All the support from the locals!
I just live running in Charlottesville. It's a challenging course, but a great run. The races here are always so organized.
The opportunity to say thanks for CPD, UVAPD, security personnel. And the hills, loved the hills!
The change in finish was nice, but I think overall it was the community support. I don't remember any stretch of road where there wasn't someone cheering on the runners! It was impressive! Oh, and the medal! This is the best one yet! For sure!
I love that it covers so much of Charlottesville and the support along the way. Thank you for another great year!
Cville tradition that benefits the community.
I attended UVA 2006-2010 so the course was truly a walk (or run!) down memory lane. It was great!
The music on the course & professionalism of the event--smooth, on-time start, no confusion anywhere. Clear mile markers & splits, smoothly run finish & instantaneous results.
Reading the inspirational & funny signs of the crowd. E.g. "we're strangers, but I'm so proud of you." & "smile if you're not wearing underwear". Certainly raised my spirits. The Evergreen neighborhood was AMAZING! It was like being a celebrity guest at a street party. Loved the banners across the roads the kids, their homemade drink station!
The community support. SO very many cheering fans on the sidelines. I am not a rock star, but I know what one feels like thanks to the 10 miler.
The live music (and the cheerleaders)! It made the overall mood so much more cheerful and was a huge pick-me-up. Special shout out to the church on the corner of Grady and 10th St--that music was awesome.
Love running through UVA. Overall, I like every part of this race. Love the Pink Ladies. Volunteers are great. This is one of my favorite races. Thanks to everyone who works hard to put this race on.
Always the course! It's just a beautiful town and a beautiful run. And for alumni, the joy and nostalgia of running these roads again and running through campus is indescribable.
I love this race. From easy packet pick-up, easy parking for the race, the traffic control during the race is always great, fun supporters along the race route. Water stops are perfect. The medals this year are awesome!
The course itself was really fun and well thought out. You got to see many different sections of Charlottesville. There was ample parking and bib pick up was easy.
