The Charlottesville Ten Miler race committee and the Charlottesville Track Club board will select five to seven beneficiaries. All profits after race expenses are paid will be granted to the selected beneficiaries based on their volunteer support during race week. Beneficiaries who provide over 30 volunteers will be considered primary and those who provide between 10-29 volunteers will be secondary. Each year, the amount varies and is entirely dependent on race registrations. In prior years, the total amount given to beneficiaries has been $80,000-$120,000. We expect primary beneficiaries to receive approximately $10,000-$20,000 and secondary to receive between $2,000 and $5,000.
ELIGIBILITY
Beneficiary must:
- Be an approved 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
- Provide services in Charlottesville & surrounding counties (including but not limited to Albemarle, Greene, Orange, Louisa, Fluvanna, Madison, Buckingham and Nelson Counties). Note: For the 2027 year, the race committee will heavily favor programs that provide health and wellness programs to our community.
- Spend 100% of funds received on goods and services benefiting the region.
- Be able to secure approximately 30-40 volunteers on race day morning.
- Be willing to help out the race committee with tasks such as marketing, soliciting sponsorship and pre-race set up.
