Volunteer Position Descriptions
The Senior Center is the fortunate beneficiary of the 2013 Charlottesville Ten Miler (C10M) scheduled Saturday, March 16. Each year, this event enjoys the support of more than 400 volunteers drawn from runners' families, civic groups, church groups, friends, and neighbors who ensure the event runs smoothly and cheer participants to the finish line.
We encourage everyone to sign-up online for a volunteer position to support the race and the Center. Consider building a team that can man a water station, help with food prep, check in runners before the race, cheer at the finish line, and hand out medals.
Running the race? You can still help the week prior to the race by working at volunteer packet pick-up, or the day before the race at runner packet pick-up, or the day of the race in a number of different capacities. So many options! Check them out here.
C10M volunteers and sponsors help ensure the Center continues to provide programs for our friends, families, and neighbors who need access to healthy aging resources. So please join us to support the Senior Center, the C10M, the runners, and our entire community!
If you're not available to be part of the fun on Saturday morning and still want to support the Center, how about being a "Sleep-In Participant?" It's just $25 and you don't have to get up early, but you get a cool tee shirt and are still contributing to the cause!
(The Senior Center has secured an anonymous donor that will match every dollar raised this year -- up to $50,000. So your support will go twice as far. Thank you, thank you!)
