RACE INFO The race start is at University Hall on the Grounds of the University of Virginia. It is imperative that you arrive before 7:05AM, all roads to U-Hall will close at that time. Both Massie and Copeley Roads are the first two legs of the race. Dr. David Jones' Lung Cancer Research program at UVA is the official charity of the Charlottesville Ten Miler for 2012. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States among every ethnic group – one in every three cancer deaths. Lung cancer will kill more people than the next four deadly cancers combined: over three times as many men as prostate cancer; and nearly twice as many women as breast cancer. In fact, over 60% of new cases of lung cancer are non-smokers. 100% of the money raised stays right here at UVA, and Dr. Jones' research holds the promise to help extend and save lives throughout Virginia.
